Talk to usMachine and equipment supply in Vietnam
Vietnam has one advantage no other market in this section shares: it borders China. For the right consignment, equipment can move by road or rail across the Youyi Guan, Dongxing or Lao Cai crossings and reach Hanoi or the northern industrial parks in days rather than weeks. For heavier or higher-volume cargo, sea freight to Hai Phong in the north, Cat Lai and Cai Mep for Ho Chi Minh City and the south, or Da Nang for the centre is still cheaper. EMM prices both and tells you which route actually wins on your order.
Electronics, textiles, furniture, seafood
Electronics and component assembly in the northern industrial parks around Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen and Hai Phong has grown enormously as manufacturing has diversified out of China, and it buys automation, handling, cleanroom equipment, SMT ancillaries, test and inspection, and precision machining. Textiles, garments and footwear across the south buy sewing, cutting, knitting, dyeing, finishing, washing and effluent plant. Furniture and wood processing in Binh Duong and Dong Nai is a major export industry taking sawmilling, veneer, pressing, CNC routing, sanding and finishing machinery. Seafood processing and pangasius and shrimp aquaculture in the Mekong Delta buy freezing tunnels, cold stores, grading, filleting and packing equipment. Coffee in the Central Highlands, cashew processing, where Vietnam is the world's largest processor, and rice milling in the Delta all have substantial plant demand. Steel, cement, plastics and packaging round it out.
Standards and conditions
Regulated goods must comply with the applicable QCVN technical regulation, with CR marking and conformity declaration required for products in scope, and we confirm the route before shipment. Electrical supply is 220 V and, on three phase, 380 V at 50 Hz. The climate is humid tropical with typhoon exposure along the central and northern coast between July and November, and the Mekong Delta is low-lying with real flood risk.
Ask us to compare the land border route against sea freight. On smaller urgent orders it frequently changes the answer.
