The single most common failure in this category. A machine specified without reference to the disinfectant or detergent it will be used with corrodes from the inside, and nobody connects the failure to the chemical. Chlorine-based disinfectants, which are what most of these facilities actually use because they are cheap and available, are aggressive. We ask what chemical will be used, specify wetted materials to suit it, and where the facility's chemical choice will shorten the machine's life we say so and offer the alternative.

Both are constraints rather than givens. Water pressure at a rural clinic may be a gravity tank, not a mains supply, and equipment requiring a minimum dynamic pressure will not function. Power may be intermittent. We ask for both before quoting and specify accordingly, including pressure boosting or storage where it is needed.
