Fractured and mixed formations want a rig that can do both and a crew trained for both. Depth capability has to be the realistic working depth with casing, not the brochure maximum. Compressor output is where cheap rigs fail: an undersized compressor on a DTH rig simply will not clean the hole, and no amount of patience fixes it.

Crew training and a maintenance regime, because these rigs are worked hard by operators who may not have had formal instruction.
