The United Arab Emirates is seven emirates with seven quite different industrial characters, and EMM works across all of them from our Dubai base. Jebel Ali handles the bulk of container traffic, Khalifa Port and KIZAD serve Abu Dhabi's heavy industry, Sharjah's Hamriyah and SAIF zones concentrate a great deal of mid-size manufacturing, Fujairah sits outside the Strait of Hormuz on the Gulf of Oman and handles bunkering and bulk, and Ras Al Khaimah is the ceramics and building-materials centre. Which emirate the plant is going to genuinely changes the answer on freight, free-zone status and duty.

Where the industrial demand sits

Abu Dhabi's Operation 300bn industrial strategy has put real capital behind domestic manufacturing, and KIZAD and the Khalifa Industrial Zone buy process plant, steel, aluminium downstream equipment, chemicals and pharmaceutical machinery. Oil, gas and petrochemicals at Ruwais and Habshan take process pumps and metering skids, control valves, centrifugal and screw compressors, shell-and-tube heat exchangers, separation vessels and fabrication equipment. Ras Al Khaimah ceramics and cement buy presses, kilns, glazing lines, crushing and conveying. Sharjah runs plastics, packaging, furniture, food processing and metal fabrication at scale. Across the country, food security policy has driven investment in controlled-environment agriculture, hydroponics, vertical farming, poultry, dairy and aquaculture, all of which buy specialised equipment. Desalination and water treatment are permanent national requirements.

Compliance and local content

Regulated goods require ECAS conformity registration through MOIAT, with the Emirates Quality Mark for certain categories, and gas appliances, electrical equipment and lifting gear each have their own route. In-Country Value certification matters increasingly on Abu Dhabi tenders, and we can supply the documentation a bidder needs. The network runs at 220 V, rising to 380 V on three phase, 50 Hz. Design for 48 to 50 C ambient with high coastal humidity and airborne sand as standard.
