Talk to usMachine and equipment supply in Nigeria
Nigeria is the largest machinery market EMM serves in Africa and the one where getting the detail right matters most. Cargo lands at Apapa or Tin Can in Lagos, at the Lekki deep sea port, or at Onne and Port Harcourt for the east and the oil sector. Lagos congestion is real and clearance timelines vary, so we build documentation accuracy into the quotation stage - a single wrong HS code or a missing certificate costs far more here in demurrage than it would anywhere else on the continent.
A manufacturing economy of its own
Nigeria's backward integration and local content policies have created genuine industrial demand rather than just trading demand. Food and beverage is the largest block: flour and semolina milling, pasta and noodle plant, bakery lines, edible oil refining, beverage bottling and canning, water sachet and bottling, cassava and garri processing, rice milling at scale across Kebbi, Kano and Ebonyi. Plastics, packaging, PET preform and injection moulding are substantial. The Aba and Nnewi manufacturing clusters buy machine tools, moulds, welding plant, footwear and garment machinery and auto parts equipment in volume. Oil and gas in the Niger Delta and the refinery and petrochemical complexes take pumps, valves, compressors, heat exchangers, generators, welding and fabrication plant. Cement, steel rolling and construction materials are major.
SONCAP - do not skip this
Regulated products need a SONCAP certificate, and it is issued on the basis of a Product Certificate obtained before shipment. Goods arriving without valid SONCAP documentation are detained. We arrange the assessment and the Product Certificate in China and send the paperwork with the bill of lading. Form M and the e-valuator process on the banking side also need to be opened before shipment, not after. Supply is 240 V single phase, 415 V three phase, 50 Hz, and grid reliability means standby generation and voltage stabilisation are normal parts of a plant specification.
Send us your Form M details and the product description and we will confirm the SONCAP route before anything is manufactured.
