Morocco is the most Europe-facing market EMM serves in Africa, and that changes the whole conversation. Tanger Med is one of the largest container ports in the Mediterranean, and Morocco's free trade agreements with the EU and the United States mean a great deal of what is manufactured here is made to European standards for European customers. Equipment coming in is expected to match: CE-level build quality, full technical files, proper safety conformity. We specify to that standard for Morocco rather than to a general export standard, because anything less will not be accepted by the tier-one plants.
Automotive, aerospace, phosphates, agriculture
Automotive is now Morocco's largest export industry. The assembly plants at Tangier and Kenitra and the dense supplier base around them buy presses, stamping, injection moulding, welding automation, wire harness equipment, measuring and test gear, conveyors and material handling, and they buy to tight tolerances and audited quality systems. Aerospace around Nouaceur has the same character at smaller volume. Phosphate extraction and the fertiliser and chemical complexes at Jorf Lasfar and Safi are world-scale and take crushing, grinding, granulation, drying, conveying, bagging and heavy pumping equipment. Agro-industry is large and sophisticated: olive oil extraction, citrus and tomato packing around Agadir, argan processing, canning, fish processing and freezing at Agadir and Laayoune, and extensive cold chain. Textiles, leather, ceramics, construction materials and renewable energy projects fill out the picture.
Technical requirements
Imports are subject to technical control at entry against Moroccan standards, which align closely with European norms, and IMANOR certification applies to some categories. Supply is 220 V single phase, 380 V three phase, 50 Hz, European-pattern outlets. French is the working language of industry here, with Arabic official, and we supply documentation and panel markings accordingly.
