Talk to usMachine and equipment supply in Equatorial-guinea
Equatorial Guinea is distinctive in two ways that matter commercially: it is the only Spanish-speaking country in Africa, and it is one of the wealthiest per head on the continent thanks to oil and gas. EMM ships to Malabo on Bioko island and to Bata on the mainland, which are separated by about 200 km of sea - so the first question on any enquiry is which, because they are effectively two destinations. We supply documentation and panel markings in Spanish, which almost no equipment supplier does by default here.
Hydrocarbons and the diversification push
Oil, gas, LNG and methanol production at Punta Europa on Bioko is the industrial core, buying pumps, valves, compressors, heat exchangers, separators, generator sets, welding and pipe plant, fabrication and field workshop equipment, and a continuous stream of spares. Government diversification policy has funded construction and industrial projects on both the island and the mainland: cement, construction materials, batching plants, crushing and screening, block and paver machines, cranage and site equipment. Food processing is largely import substitution - flour milling, bakery plant, beverage and water bottling, juice, poultry and feed mills, cold storage. Timber from the mainland takes sawmilling, kilns and moulding machinery. Fisheries buy ice plant, freezing and cold chain. Water treatment and desalination are standing requirements.
Specification
Both Bioko and the mainland are equatorial - very high humidity, heavy rainfall, and salt exposure on coastal sites. Tropicalised windings, sealed enclosures, marine-grade coatings and stainless fasteners are the baseline rather than extras. Mains voltage is 220 V, with 380 V available on three phase at 50 Hz. Equipment is normally specified to European-style build quality here, and buyers will ask for full technical files.
Tell us Malabo or Bata, and ask for the quotation and manuals in Spanish - we would rather your operators read the machine properly.
